AVT McCormick is a Rs.700 Crore company, and a 30 year old JV between McCormick & Co, USA and A.V. Thomas Group Companies, India.

As the Managing Director, she empowers a 395-member team at AVT McCormick through strategic direction and hands-on operational guidance.

AVT McCormick, pioneers in Backward Integration of spices, under her leadership, launched the 'Farmer Forward' initiative - a strategic program dedicated to empowering farmers through sustainable practices, capacity building, and inclusive growth. This initiative reflects the company's commitment to strengthening agricultural communities by providing access to resources, training, and market opportunities, thereby fostering long-term resilience and prosperity. Another first is the establishment of the first Women FPO for Cumin in Barmer, Rajasthan by the company in 2023.

With a strong background in international marketing and regulatory requirements, and 30+ years of experience in spice industry, she has the proven track record of leading the company to become the "Brand behind the Brands", supplying sustainably sourced, value added spices, blends and seasonings globally.

She holds a dual Master's degree in business administration and International Affairs from Ohio University, USA.

Sushama presently serves as a member of Governing body of St. Teresa's College (Autonomous) Ernakulam (2024-25 to 2029-30) as a "Practicing Professor" to help foster holistic development of the Girl Students to ensure employability.
